Trilobite

A senior paleontologist at the Natural History Museum of London writes warmly about his pet subject--a 500 million year old arthropod called the Trilobite. This former sea-dwelling crustacean-like creature survived 300 million years of climate change and continental drift, but now its closest living relative is the horseshoe crab.
